As a Theatre Director

Marya is nationally recognized for her work in regional, Los Angeles, and New York spaces. She has garnered Ovation Awards and nominations, multiple LA Times Critic’s Pick designations, Stage Raw Award nominations, and many other awards. She has directed productions at The Geffen Playhouse, South Coast Repertory Theatre, The Alley Theatre, Detroit Public Theatre, The Long Wharf Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, the Inge Festival, and The Boston Court among many others. Mazor is a recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts TCG fellowship.

In New York City, she cofounded Voice & Vision, a theatre developing the voices of women and girls.

As a filmmaker

Marya was one of 8 women selected for the AFI Directing Workshop for Women, where she directed The Winged Man, written by Academy-Award nominee José Rivera. The film played festivals worldwide including ComiCon and Athens International. She is currently in development on a feature, ZADIE, which chronicles a burgeoning activist’s fight for her own abortion. She recently directed the 8 part digital series Sophie in Hollywood, now streaming on Asian American Movies.
